Default Dunta Robinson

That's just flat out blatant leading with the helmet hit, and no excuse for it.

POS f*cking cheap shot artist.

Shouldn't that be an immediate ejection? That was ridiculous.

Screw a fine, he needs to miss games, without pay.

Really? I didn't think that was that bad. Not any worse than what Ryan Matthews did to Kyle Arrington during the NE-San Diego game yesterday.

Speaking of inconsistent NFL rules applications, how was Aaron Hernandez's touchdown in the San Diego game a catch while Jermichael Finley's catch in the end zone against Carolina was not? Hernandez had the ball escape his grasp while going to the ground in the end zone, while Finley basically had the same play get called no catch. I still can't believe they didn't further clarify that rule after all the nonsense of the Calvin Johnson play last season.

I originally thought the same thing Slot. But after watching it again, it looks like Maclin saw it at the last second and tried to spin away from it. It took some of the pop away from the hit and making it look not as devestating as say the Jackson hit last year. He did clearly lead with his head while going towards Maclin's helmet.

Not to defend the guy on this particular hit, but isn't attempting to hit somebody with a shoulder always leading with the head? After all, the head sits on top of the shoulders. The thing we will never know is intent. Did the guy intend to hit with his helmet or was he looking to put a 'clean' shoulder hit and at the speed of two NFL players approaching each other, he missed by a few inches (or the other player made a slight adjustment just before the hit) and bam, it's helmet to helmet.

I don't think they are all cut and dried dirty hits. Too many other factors going into it.

I think I saw last night that Robinson got a $40k fine.

I don't think this play is remotely similar to the one he made last year. Maclin had a good three or four steps after the catch to prepare for contact; Jackson had no such luxury last year.

Thing is, everybody - well, almost everybody - somehow dips their head when they make a tackle. I don't see how making a tackle is possible otherwise.
