Default Time for the "he wasn't going 100 mph and he wasn't being reckless" thread

When my friend Albert was hit by a drunk driver, none of us got to see that beautiful one last time.

I would have loved him if he had looked like the elephant man... he was a great person.

His Abercrombe and Fitch model-esque good looks, his slightly crooked smile, those mischievous eyes that looked at you and made you wonder why he looked like he was about to start laughing... that Taylor Kitsch longish, unkept hair that he was always brushing away fron his face.. his looks were nothing compared to his personality.

He once cradled a crow that a garbage truck had somehow hit and brought it to the pound and, like a little boy, he waited and hoped they would take pity and try to save it instead of doing well... what they do.

It's a small story and one of a thousand but it sums up what type of guy this was.

I'm sure 80 percent of you know... knew... someone who died too young because of some drunk **** who decided they could make it home just fine.

When I read this idiocy by Mike Smith it made me want to vomit.

Be a man, admit what you did instead of telling us how you were fine you worthless ****.

Seriously wtf he's a grown man... you don't drink and drive.

Makes me sick, sorry for the rant.

I alays give jockeys and anyone else second, third, however many chances when they have a problem with drugs, booze, whatever... driving drunk though? No. I tolerate that with no one.

**** him and his not being reckless mentality.

Makes me sick.

Seems he wasn't the only one last night.

http://www.drf.com/news/jockey-mike-...del-mar-opener

There was an extensive police presence in communities surrounding Del Mar following the races Wednesday. According to a local television news report, 15 people were arrested for DUI, though it is not known if Smith is included in that number.

Mike Smith owns that road. This is bulls.hit.

What was the probable cause? Going wide around a turn and crossing the center line. Happens all the time.

Pshhh.

If driving drunk isn't reckless, what is? They all think they can handle it til they can't & kill someone. 'Nobody died' isn't a defense here. I've lost people too. Saying I'm disgusted w/him doesn't even begin to cover it. Mike likes his wine does he, Baffert? Maybe Mike would also like a rehab program. CA's got plenty.

So sorry to hear that.

I would add that just as many people know someone who drove a vehicle while over the limit regardless of whether or not they got caught and never said anything.

Let the person who has never driven after a couple glasses of wine or beer cast the first stone. I imagine being 110 lbs doesn't allow you to have more than a couple before being legally drunk.
After saying this I will admit that I'm not a big Smith fan as a person and this makes me think less of him. He should of either kept his mouth shut or taken responsibility for his actions.

If Zenyatta hadn't moved to Kentucky she would have taken his keys and given him a ride.

seeing as mike knows his size, which isnt a defense anyway, he should have had a driver. or not drink. anything is preferable to d and d...or pisspoor justification when caught.

How big a stone am I allowed to throw at him? I'm concerned though because I know several other people that meet that qualification. Do we all throw at the same time? He did a bad thing, but that is almost going a little too far.

Why drink and drive when you can drink and drink?

If your doing shroom why leave, I would suggest just go in circles, that way when you run out of gas, it'll bo OK. You can just get out.

Glad I could help.
