Default Hide your horses.. None safe from Repole's grasp!

Caixa Electronica nabbed for $62.5k by Repole & TAP Wednesday. And won the shake to boot...

Was honest competitor to begin with, and should be an even more dangerous commodity running out of the Pletcher barn.

Who could blame them.. Had to look up the breeding. The stallion has had a fair amount of early success with an extremely modest book of mares.

Haven't seen many high priced claims of late. Probably a good sign.

Maybe he's just spending his Timely Writer money already.

That and maybe because the horse is fast....

On the claiming front, they have been claiming horses like crazy out in California, very interesting considering alot of people think California is dead money.

Look for the horse to run in the silks of Tim Higgins and Jim Burr next out. Zing!

Repole's on a roll. He claims a horse for 40k who's terrible and turns him into a rabbit, a NY bred for 35k who only brought 16k at a recent auction, another NY bred whose only wins in the last year were on the Saratoga turf course and now this horse with no conditions for 62.5k. You can't fool him.

The 40k claim was bad because the horse is finished. His previous race shows that. His Tom Fool winner has what doubled the investment already? His claim yesterday can run, and one must assume Todd moves him up.

I give the guy a little credit. He does like horses that race and he places them were they can be successful. The "driven" horses race often enough, and he certainly loves the tradition of NY racing. He makes racing in NY a bit more colorful, nobody is prefect?

Caixa is a nice horse. He can really run and should stay goof for Todd. Claiming actively is like an other method of buying horses. You buy several horses and hope that the good ones will more than cover the poor ones. If you can drop and sell the ones that don't pan out or make then rabbits for the good ones, then you have cash flow and can keep on going.

I do wonder how some of TAP's other clients feel about him suddenly filling his barns with horses taken via the box. While he's not exactly churning $10k horses, it does seem that the "wear and tear" on staff caring for more stock might bother owners of almost exclusively stakes type horses (think WinStar, Tabor etc.)

I think it's great he's bringing a horse by the wildly popular Arromanches back to NY.

At 130 bucks a day I am sure the staff are ok with any horse that comes in?

I wouldn't make that assumption. Aside from Calibrochoa (who was already fast and has become a stakes-winner running against the likes of Fastus Cactus), I can't recall another of the horses that he claimed for Repole (i.e., Dr. W., Avanta) doing much post-claim.

Caixa Eletronica is nicely bred. He's a hard knocker like his tough, charismatic dad and deserves the praise he's getting on this thread. Looking forward to seeing him run.

I know Rome's horse got claimed, who was the other?

It isn't just that they are getting claimed, but for some of there is 4-5 way shakes, last year there was barely 3 claims a week I think I heard.

The 1, who finished second, was also claimed.
