UPDATE: After running the Holy Bull through my handy-dandy video editing software and digitally timing the opening quarter- and half-miles, the output confirmed that the fractional times are indeed correct as published. That second quarter was quick.

I saw both Crist and Moss call into question the 2nd quarter fraction of that race ... and heard more than a few other handicappers mention it to me as well.

When you combined the extremely speedy racing surface that day - with the way posted fractions have historically come back in races at that distance over that track ... there wasn't a whole lot suspicous about that one.
