Default Tampa Bay Thursday

Going to be tied up all day, but may make it over for the late P4 so here goes...

Race 7)
7 Cornetto 3-1– Missed closing last @ Calder… Griff / Boss / Leyva should roll on the front 3rd
10 Bad Medicine 5-2 – Should be off Cornetto, and grab the picture should he fade. Calder horses, along with the Suffolk shippers making a nice account of themselves thus far 2nd
2 Country In 8-1 – Everything says avoid; workouts going backwards since his arrival, etc. but you simply can not leave off anything Pecoraro is throwing out. Should be a steep price and a nice include. I think it was Kev that remarked, "He must have inherited Zaidie's stalls" WON

2$ EX 2-10 78.20
2$ TRI 2-10-7 280.60

Race 8)
3 Double Deduction 7-2 – Mah boy Bernell, Butler, Turf – solid Tampa angle (ask Bigs) ; sprint, sprint, route – another strong angle here. Rhone conspicuously absent thus far, looks to have been sighting in on this one.
7 Jackies Causway 2-1 – Temped to toss knowing nothing about Barry Menefee, but this lightly raced 5yo has been training nicely at the Classic Mile, draws Rosie – has a shot, but should be nowhere 2-1. WON
2 Kissinacop 15-1 – Moved up nicely and faded last – Increasing speed figures each out – Will run with the first flight and could pull a typical “Tampa Bomb” move at the wire at a big number 3rd

Race 9)
6 Oroque 2-1 – Probably the classiest of the bunch – big effort last out possible bounce candidate but can’t leave off WON
9 Lucky Lassie 7-2 – Hoosier shipper graduates out of MSW to face not much here – will be on the front with Oroque 4th
1 Velvet Fox [b] 10-1 – Haw shippers dropping down are showing well thus far, Inez getting her bearings here – toss the route; a nice fit at a nice price sitting just off the speed
3 Tickle Bone 8-1 - Big move up over the real stuff last at Thistley, Faith Schorr breaks by 6 last out, but Mary Bennett opts from Ramgeet
5 Cantaura 12-1 - see Tickle Bone. Same story, Schorr gets this one. Not even gonna try to figure it out, just going to use both. 3rd

Race 10)
Maiden 8’s – Heartbreakers and Moneymakers

7 Copper Hearted 8-1 – sports a swift work over the skid last week; Toss the last troubled trip over the Laurel weeds; Gets one of the better bugs in Abel Lezcano; Griff gets her back looking for his first win of the meet, could get it here against not much
6 Lovely Lacey Lou 10-1 – Late blooming Proud and True filly fits the “hasn’t done anything wrong” angle popular here at the bottom. Like that she got a 6F work over the track 4th
2 Wishin U Were Here 7-2 - Mountaineer shipper just missed the last 2 with paired speed figs – should be lone speed from the inside and could make light work of this. 2nd
4 Fasola 5-2 – Catalano looks to right the ship with this inherited Mott Songandaprayer filly. Hasn’t been interested since August, but can’t ignore 35% first time with, and Homiester get the nod in the irons WON

172.60

I really like Reamidst in the 4th. This is one of those situations where those using Formulator can get an edge. Jane Cibelli is annually one of the best trainers at TAM and she scored with two of her first three starters during last year's meet.

Also, when trying to figure out exactly who she was defeated by in her last start, you'd see that the field that night at Meadowlands was solid. The winner was going 2nd off a layoff after being claimed by Dutrow and had posted Beyers in the 70s in each of her last six dirt starts. The winner was going 2nd off a layoff for Steve Klesaris and came into that race off of a narrow miss at the Big M at the same claiming price. The 3rd place finisher was a 5 time winner who was in that field because she's a 3YO, so it's quite clear that the company was a lot better. On the drop, in a race that should be run at a good early clip, she's very enticing at 5-1.

I don't know how you can play a main track that brings in two 50-1 shots in the same day. Correct me if I'm wrong. I only saw two races from there yesterday, and both seemed to yield 50-1 shots.....I thought the MAGIC show was in Orlando.

That's what happens in races that have more than five horses.
