For those of you that use weather in your handicapping. It is much colder and the humidity is waay down here compared to any of the first few racing days which were warm and humid (a dramatic difference). The winds are 20-25mph out of the NW which generally in in the horse's face on the backstretch.

The biggest thing I have found is with the very low humidity and wind. The track will dry out faster than they can put water to it. This will tend to make it cuppy and the speed tends to back up to the field more.

Watch the first couple races, but I tend to downgrade the speed slightly on these days.

Also, I would think they will be back on the turf today with the sun, wind and dry air.

Thanks for the info Mike.

Since you have your weatherman hat on I need some advice.

In upstate NY. Need to get back to Northern Viriginia. Heard a bad storm is coming up the coast. Can you pass along the conditions and any other thoughts?

You better were your tall shoes if you plan on going out.
