Classic Wayne Lukas profile at 2 to begin career. 10th in Hollywood career debut at odds-on. Won next time out followed up with a lowly rated Del Mar Debutante win.

With Rene Douglas aboard.....and a large sum of my money on her in the late double.

I loved playing Rene underneath with longshots during his stint out west. He was always trying and seemed to get them up when others (who will remain nameless) quit riding.

Love the shot in the Ruffian - the horse's form almost mirrors the NYRA sign just in front! Could take the shot a million times and not get such close mirroring!
