Default ABC sucks- somebody please post results and prices

30 minutes after the race and never posted the prices. Now 45 minutes later and nothing on DRF or equibase.

This is inexcusable..

Why show the Manhattan when you can repeat Kenny and Chuck Woolley singing round robin Row Row Row Your Boat about 5 times?

Yeah, I was all set to watch the Manhattan online on twinspires when I saw that the signal was blocked and I had to watch it on ABC.

abc probably operates under the assumption that everyone only cares about the winner. that would be false, but that's what happens when you have a network that is clueless about the sport it's covering, and knows nothing about what fans are looking for.
i dvr's the show, fastforwarded to the race-all in all, the best way to watch the race on espn/abc. you skip all the bs, especially bailey.

It's absolutely ridiculous that ABC/ESPN had like 7 hours of coverage yesterday and couldn't devote 2 1/2 minutes for the Manhattan. Probably for some feature that people probably have seen sometime in the last 5 weeks.

ALL the features espn showed, abc re-ran.

You would think they would hire consultants that know the audience they have. Luckily and for no reason whatsoever I switched over to TVG just as the race was about to go off.

I really never understand the knocking of ABC, NBC or anyones coverage of horse racing.

ESPN is ESPN, not ESPN OTB. ABC is ABC, and not ABC OTB.

They put horse racing on the air to entertain general audiences in addition to racing fans. General audiences could care less about who ran fourth, they want to know who just won the race.

The same argument applies to their camera angles. To a non-racing fan, the pan shot is BORING.

They correctly assume the majority of people who are serious bettors are not on their couch but at a track or an OTB. The majority of people watching horse racing on a day like the Belmont are 3x a year race watchers and they are watching to be entertained, not informed.

nope, not an otb-just a show that drags on far too long to show 2 1/2 minutes of racing. as for assuming most bettors are at an otb-plenty of people don't need to leave their house to bet. that's why i said i taped it to watch later, so i could fast forward thru countless minutes of filler-time they could spend showing races such as the manhattan. i'm not 'entertained' by their coverage at all-it's boring.
btw, why should a 'casual' fans opinion mean more than mine?
