Every once in a while you really fall in love with a horse. I think Flower Alley, even though some think he is overhyped, was not given anywhere near enough credit for how good he was by years end last year. His Jim Dandy and Travers were awesome. A reported breathing problem inhibited him in the JCGC and his Breeders Cup race making Saint Liam work to the wire was fantastic. To be a clear 2nd in that field as a three year old was quite the race.
I really think hes going to be a spectacular horse this year and I think it starts today. Invasor is no push over and he has the advantage of more fitness, but I think Flower Alley starts his HOY campaign in earnest today. I wouldn't bet him as there will be little value on him, but I really love this horse and will be rooting for him just as hard as I would a horse that I bet. I think he will get the job done.

If you are going to beat Flower Alley, today is the day...but I have been on him since Travers last year and am not about to jump ship now.

I think Flower Alley is the best horse in the race. That alone adds 10 lbs to his back.

I have to include Survivalist & here comes the Sun Kng

I like horses coming from Calder but it looks too tough up there

I agree on being a Flower Alley fan and that he didnt get enough credit at the end of 2005. However, I do not think HOY is in the cards for Flower Alley and it starts today. I think this race is much more than a 2 horse race (Flower Alley and Invasor). I have played out in my mind how the race will be run. I am pretty certain Wanderin Boy and Siphon City are going to go to the lead. They should set some solid fractions. To me the race is going to be determined if Flower Alley and Invasor run in tandem behind the leaders. I think this could really bother both horses. I feel that Invasor is more fit that Flower Alley and if both of them run in tandem behind the leaders it could spell trouble for both. If they do run in tandem I really like Survialist in this spot. Now if Flower Alley and Invasor do not run in tandem, then who gets first jump? Who gets first jump into solid fractions is the key. Could their be jockey error in knowing when to move??? CERTAINLY. But I look for either Invasor or Survivalist to win this race. My dark horse is West Virginia. I will be betting $80 to win on Invasor--$80 to win and place on Survivalist. Then I am going to key West Viginia with all and all in a trifecta.

This one seems to be ripe for a pace meltdown. By my count 7 E or EP types.

At Pinnacle now:

11 Invasor -110
12 Flower Alley -106

Invasor slightly favored in the matchup
