Default Santa Anita: Double Carry Friday! $350k+

Carryover at SA and card is interesting…lets get some discussions going.

3)
#7 Solo Piano 8-5 - have to use and will be gunning it on (or about) the lead. Not a single.
#3 Wicked Delight 7-2 – tough to figure out but expect to come from off the pace, got beat by Tee Off last out
#2 Tee Off 4-1 – might be a hanger but like her chances today, has run into some good ones
#1 Entry 5-2 – Well bred Casse entry…no idea what they are but I am not using….I think the quick west coast pace will hamper them

4)
#5 Stylin Deputy 5-2 – Cassidy has been on fire in these MCL races This one looks much the best but only concern is that she will be closing….and not sure 6f is her best dist. Possible Single
#7 Snooty Gal 6-1 – I think this one can sit off the #3 and have first jump
#3 Silent Western 3-1 – Not sure what do with her…debut was good at 5.5f but 2nd time out was a disaster. Now with Pariban and blinks…could be lone speed…leaning towards not using
#2 Saugatuck River 4-1 – This one paced filly isn’t going to blow by anyone but if the speed tires she could win by default if Stylin doesn’t get rolling in time

5)
#8 Grace Anotomy 3-1 – Maybe a single.
#2 Cassablanca 8-1 – Filly has run some nice races and love the late kick…Connections and Pace a question, but wonder if they are going to try to get her more involved early by getting T Baze up.
#4 Wonderous Event 5-2 – 1st off Carava claim, she is speedy and could be all alone on the lead. Dangerous, but I think outclassed by the two above. Pace will determine her fate.
#5 Shes A Real Keeper 6-1 – Nice win last time, and hope she pushes Wonderous event on the front.
#7 General Consensus 5-1 – Been away a while but has talent, Solis opts for here.

6) Uhg…
#6 Hammurabi 6-1 – Carava first off claim looks dangerous with Blinks on
#8 E Street Federici 5-1 – Raffy picks up the mount on this one who has been away 4 months
#4 Barney Bass 5-1 – $80k purchase a half to Backstreet Rhythm with Gomez up and in for $32k….hummm. Vienna knows what he is doing and he loves to train the firsters on the deep training track to get them fit. Fear him.
#9 Jaydens Hope 5-1 – Mullins firster has worked well. No idea on talent level but was a $70k purchase a year ago
#5 Magic Cooper 3-1 – Not sold on this one….crumbles up front today

7) At 6f this is a tough race to figure, so use some speed and some closers
#7 Deputy Flyer 7-2 – Could be the real deal but who knows, and will have to run down a few
#6 Bucks Bro 6-1 – I like the 4 races under his belt…lack of early foot a problem at 6f but could gun them down
#8 Snow Fighter 10-1 – at 6f he could hold on…major speed
#3 Something Sonic 15-1 – will be up front with the 8 and could stalk a way into a win at a nice price
#5 River Echo 5-2 – Not sold…hanger alert

8) Wow..what a cluster of a race
#6 Rare Ribbon 5-1 – dropping and cutting back, with enough speed to be in the mix…like a lot
#7 Our Anastacia 8-1 – Loved this one last time and Rios pushed her a little too hard early. At 6.5f she can stalk a win at a great price…I like this aggressive rider.
#3 Saucey Officer 7-2 – Who the hell is Losey? Good chance if the wheels don’t come off…back class and speed
#2 Afleets Love Song 6-1 – Dropping and cutting back, will be rolling in the lane.

Early Thoughts on Ticket
3)2,7
4)5,7
5)8
6)4,6,8,9
7)6,7, (3 or 8)
8)3,6,7

Just started to look at the card..On an initial look I agree with alot of your writeup, although I will try to fit River Echo in either a pick 3 or 4.. FWIW, both Toby Turrell and Larry Zap like Jaydens Hope. Good Luck

In race 6, the cheap 32 maiden claimers race 9 on 1/25 almost went as fast as Johnny Eves did. The pace collapsed in that race but Magic Copper finished best of the early dualers. That was his first race and he's had a work since.

Magic Copper might be the one in the 6th.

In race 5 Shes A Real Keeper is coming off a win aginst first level statebreds on the lawn. Horse is bred to be a runner and has performed well on the grass. Solis leaves to ride the 7 General Consensus but Talemo is a capable rider. I think Shes A Real Keeper can come back and win again. The horse that scares me a bit is Grace Anatomy. While she is only 1 for 11 she's faced better horses.

I'm going with Shes A Real Keeper and will box her with Grace in an exacta.

I hate the 8th race. Where is the maiden claimer to close out the card. I've noticed that goofy things happen when they run cheap claimers who have won at least a race as closing day race.

Does anyone have any clever ideas ?

3rd race was Olguin's answer to SCAVS' comment last week(or it could just be time for Abrams to open the jar.)

I had the overbet chalk and Tee Off in the 2-3 double. It looked like things did not open up for Tee Off until it was too late. My father is at Foxwoods now and he said the horse had an opening but was not good enough.

Might as well get prepared for another carryover.....the longest shot on the board won the first race, and Iggy Puglisi won the second race. That combination alone should carry it over again. Except it looks like Puglisi hit the other horse with the stick.

Iggy's horse came over and bumped the runner about 5 jumps before the wire. It looked like a take down to me but the stewards kept the winner up.

I had the runner up. These second place finishes are not fun.

Should of come down. Was going by(if didn't get stopped by the bump.) You can see it's going by, and then stops due to the bump. Anyone can see that. Didn't we all see that before they even called an inquiry? They want to give the has-nevabeen jock a win. The outside horse is a lot smaller, too. How could that not of made a difference in the outcome?
