Default 1/17: Gulfstream/Santa Anita (P4's)

Friday's double carryover at Santa Anita was again an exersize in ticket building. Despite no winner paying much better than 5-1, a successful run of the sequence brought back a terrific $43,360 (Consos $438.00) to an estimated 25 players. At least was able to warm up a little on the day after two dreadful efforts Wednesday and Thursday. Getting my single in the skien (Alex's Wish in the 5th) was maddening given that it I had already been bumped from the wager missing the 2 early legs. Leaving 'Super Add' A Flicker of Light off the P4 ticket cost the very generous $350 Quad return, but was at least able to recoup some simoleans keying Alex's Wish for a nice $89 triple. Hope you did OK and are ready for a great Saturday of racing across the country!

If I was allowed to play TWO horses today and only two, I would be playing Kopitar to win, and then rolling that over on Infernal to win.

While Kopitar should be odds on, Infernal might not be because that Mayor Marv horse just lost a head to Papa Chem, but Mayor Marv had EVERY OPPORTUNITY to go right past him, I think he hangs on horses, regardless of blinkers. Also note that Infernal's sire, Sir Cherokee, gets runners that improve with the stretchout.....

$100 win on Kopitar should get you $250 or $300
$250 on Infernal should get you $900

Tom..

Agree with both as the key horses in those events. I thought Infernal looked tons best in that SA 3rd, but I think 'Marv' and others are going to get bet plenty. Hammerle said there was lots of chatter around Clocker's Corner all week about Meteore as well as Thorondor.

As for Kopitar, if he's 3-1, how does Big Al Cordes get made at 20-1? Another bizarre GP line...

G/L today!

1) Infernal isn't as good as thought, bad trip, but still did zero running, I still don't believe in Mayor Marv, he will go in a stakes next and might get played but he had everything his own way and still hung down the lane a little......

2) Castellano is an idiot, 4w4w.....horrible...

Thank you, I have been on a real downslide the past couple weeks because I haven't been able to figure out Gulfstream. I really needed this one.

If I would just stick with California only I would be fine. I try to get fancy at Gulfstream because you can find a reason for a lot of longshots in some races and I get myself in trouble.

Michael Baze, I always thought he was garbage, then started to believe he wasn't, but he tricked me, he is garbage.

I think Square Eddie has a chance get upset by The Pamplemouse, hope that Brother Keith runs well also.....
