In other stallion news, the 2009 stud fee for THE GREEN MONKEY (Forestry), whose retirement to Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds near Ocala, Florida, was announced in February, has been determined. Sold for a world-record auction price of $16 million at the 2006 Fasig-Tipton Calder Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, he will stand for $5,000

Lets see 16,000,000/5000 = 3200.......yeah I would say stamina may be an issue here.
The Monkey may have problems at this distance...

he'd have to cover 160 mares a year for 20 years-and have every one of them take and produce a live foal. and that's just the purchase price....then there's covering his feed bills, etc..

I don't know.
If you want the Storm Cat sire line for $5k, I think Newfoundland might actually be a better choice. His dam was a multiple-G1 winner who has produced several decent horses, while I don't think TGM's dam has even produced a winner yet.

Regarding TGM, I am aware of the fact that on-track performance often doesn't translate to the shed, but for 5k, I would like to have seen the horse do SOMETHING in his career.
