Default Maryland Racing

I wasn't sure where to post this, but the Baltimore Sun outlined yet another signal that racing in Maryland is dying a slow and ugly death. Eliminating races like the DeFrancis and the Laurel Futurity would be incredibly unfortunate.

I know that while most folks only care about Maryland racing one May weekend every year, many of us are there at Laurel on random weekends to see races like the General George or the DeFrancis Dash, and it would be a darn shame to see what was once a great place for racing plummet even further off the national stage. I have no doubt that Les Bois will be more relevant to national racing in a few years than Pimlico and Laurel.
