![]() Enjoyed a strong day Saturday though the 5 of 6 on the $3,000 Sixty Minute P6 was a huge disappointment. As I wrote Saturday night, I was oversold on Foolish Bid in the Starter ALW at Philly (Leg D). I thought Foolish Bid had a class edge and that he was liable to get the ideal stalking trip, but the 2 scratches (#8 Rough Shod Heir & #5 Basil St. John) changed the race completely from a pace standpoint as they WERE the speeds. As a result, #2 Sweetsouthernson, my second choice, inherited the mantle upfront, and got no pressure, while Foolish Bid languished early and had no rally.
Was a very good day though overall with a spate of trifectas and a nice superfecta suggestion score coming through. The three horses offered in the inaugural Greenwood Cup at Philly (Barcola, Evening Attire, Phil the Power) came through 3rd-1st-2nd and returned $85 for each $6 tri box. The .10 superfecta spot play in the Monmouth 7th was good for $71.00 for each $12, and capped a run of 4 straight trifectas on the day's first 4 plays ($55; $64; $85; $84). Rest of the day featured chalky Virginia Oaks-Derby Day races which were a winner but not very profitable, and a bad misread on my part of the San Diego as Well Armed was much the best and I stood against him.. Hope you did well.. Gave the first 4 at Del Mar Monday a glance as I will play some of them on tonight's show..
