![]() Standing by the paddock early on in pre-race stuff in the middle of the day's card, I noted one of the extra outrider horses was unaccompanied in the last stall and looking attentively at his brethren going through pre-race paddock routine.
Honestly, I thought I knew what was going through his mind as he watched and watched and took a step out of his stall. And then looked around, and took a couple more steps. And then decided to join the horses being walked around the paddock. After one lap around he took a break in the paddock center ring grass to watch the continuing pre-race work. And then one of the outriders then on the track noticed he had gone astray and motioned for someone to go get him. The paddock parade was stopped as he went back to his stall where he watched some more. |

![]() I was at Pleasanton yesterday, too. Some more humorous stuff that many saw happened was before the 5th race as "The Professor" Gordon Jones was doing his pre-race capping from his perch in the paddock live on the track TV feed. He was just mentioning exciting things happening at the track when a crazy drunken fan went onto his perch, told him, "I love you Gordon and I love you picks" and tried to kiss him on the cheek. Gordon pulled away as the fan scampered back to the safety of the crowd and without missing a beat he said, "one of the many fans out here at Pleasanton today".
I heard she did it on a "Triple-Dog-Dare" with $60 bucks bet that she wouldn't have the guts to do it. How do I know this? Because it was me ![]() But I wasn't that drunk... ![]()
