Jermaine could have won the first time.
Pavlik is very tough and does not mind getting
punched to give one. That first fight was great.
Pavlik has a really good jab. I think if he establishes the jab
early, he can beat him again. If not, Jermaine can put him to sleep.
Hope this next one is as good, I just wont be watching
it on the big screen. Possibly on the little screen.

My buddy told me that I had to watch this first fight tonight as I didn't see it. It was probably the greatest fight I have seen in my young fight watching career. Tons of action. My friend is ordering the rematch tomorrow, looking forward to seeing it.

Pavlick in 4. Taylor is afraid of him. Pavlick wont drop his hands this time and give Taylor a free shot. The 1st time he connects square to Taylors head, Taylor will run.

Taylor cannot stand toe to toe with Pavlik.
He is gonna have to work him like he did Bhop.
Although Pavlik is much more dangerous than Bhop.

I would also run from Pavlik. The guy is a crushing puncher.
But he can be beaten by Taylor.

I happened to be at the second Hopkins/Taylor fight. Taylor matched but much better against Hopkins because Hopkins was never willing to open up and take a chance that he may get hit. Taylor was faster, beat him to the punch and also fought conservatively. He really cant do that with Pavlick because Pavlick will force the action and allow himself to take shots as long as he gets his in too. I think that Pavlick will respect Taylors punching ability a bit more but I think that Taylor will rush in to try to get everbody to forget the first fight. And when he does I expect him to get hammered. If Pavlick gets careless and Taylor catches him, Taylor can win. But I doubt that will happen.

Hopkins is afraid to get hit now.
He never really tried to win that fight.
I expect him to just survive the Calzaghe fight
and get his payday.

You may be right. Good insight. Taylor may
think the first fight was his, and he can pressure
Pavlik early. I think Pavlik is a bit of a slow starter.
I feel the problem with Taylor is that he is a very
good athlete, but not a true boxer. Very talented.

Pavlik is a very good boxer. He is a laser heavy jab puncher.
And that sets up his bombs. The guy can throw nuclear
weapons when that jab sets everything up.

Should be a very interesting fight. Now I kinda want to
watch it on the bigger screen. Damn my weakness.
I love to watch athletes that are good at their trade.

The big hair guy aint involved with this one. Pavlick is Arum and Taylor is DiBella.

Taylor played it smart apparently.
I did not get to see the fight but read the progress.
Most people stated the fight was closer than the judging.
The summary seemed to be Pavlik is a better boxer.
Taylor has tired down the stretch before, I guess he
pulled this again.
Also it read like no one really got hurt, so I dont think
it was a bad bet.

Taylor fought not to get knocked out. In some of the middle rounds he hardly threw a punch. He was pretty effective when he did fight but rarely followed up and got aggressive. I thought the judging was pretty accurate simply because when the rounds are close as many of them are you are supposed to favor the busier guy which Pavlick was. I believe he connected with over a 100 more punches than Taylor did. It was a bit anticlimatic after the first fight but neither guy was willing to expose himself too much. If Taylor fought in the days of 15 round fights he would have been not much more than an average fighter because he tires so badly. For a guy that was not very active he got awfully tired. He did do a good job of staying off the ropes and keeping in the center of the ring but in the end he simply didnt throw enough punches. Pavlick gets hit an awful lot and he seems to have a tough chin but that may be his undoing down the road.

That was really apparent in the first fight.
Nonetheless he is so ready to take on fights
that I have to like him. Hope that does not change.

Taylor had problems tiring against Bhop in those
fights also. He claimed he would be in better shape
for this fight. He has a stamina problem. This is not
the days of yore 15 round affairs. Jermaine probably
gets himself some more big pay days after this though.
I think he put himself back on the map. Some guys wilt
after getting knocked out for the first time. I got to
give him credit for getting back in.

You are probably right about Taylor not fighting to win
late. From what I read Pavlik was the clear aggressor late.
Even though this fight was not for a title, you cant
win going backwards against a guy that has already
beat you in the late rounds of a close fight.
