Default Horses Health

With the fast times that have been recorded on Santa Anita's cushion track this spring, whats your opinion on the affect it will have on the horses? I've been betting on horse racing since the mid 1970's, and I can't ever recall ever seeing sub 21 second opening quarters, and sub 1:07 6 furlong times. I think it can't be good for tendons, ankles, etc.

I'll be the first smart a$$ comment: Of course, the track can't cancel a scheduled card due to drainage problems, and let the horses run.
