Default newbie question on pace

Hi folks. As the title says I'm still fairly new at this and trying to get my head around some of the finer points of pace handicapping. Can anyone out there recomend a book, article or software to help with pace? Other than Brohamer which I feel I've been trying to read for 6 months. Thanks so much.

Not only for pace, but Steve Davidowitz's "Betting Thoroughbreds: A Professional's Guide for the Horseplayer" is an excellent read. It will take some effort to understand it all, but I feel this is a great book for somebody trying to learn how to play.

The definite pace methodology choice is "Modern Pace Handicapping" by Tom Brohamer. I've never been able to get through it. It is a slow, tough read.

probably the best or close to the best handicapping book every, but honestly all the calculations portion could be removed as computer programs do that work.

The best book on pace, in my opinion, is Thoroughbred Handicapping: State of the Art, by William Quirin. It is old, but well worth reading, and a much better read than the Brohamer work.

I just read Klein's "The Power of Early Speed" and found it very intriguing. . .

Once again thanks for all the responses, I'm finding pace the most difficult part to get my head around fully. Can't tell you how much the suggestions are appreciated.
