The Champion Awards Judging Panel has elected the final nominees for The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2006/2007as follows:

The Panel decides to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Silent Witness, Horse of the Year in 2003/04 and 2004/05, in recognition of his great contribution to Hong Kong racing.

The Judging Panel is made up of six members from The Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists.

The HKJC votes are made by the Chief ExecutiveOfficer, MrWinfriedEngelbrecht-Bresges, Executive Director of Racing, MrWilliam A Naderand Head of Handicappingand Race Planning, Mr Nigel C Gray.

The other three members are from the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists: Chairman Mr TsuiWaiMan, Vice Chairman Mr Carlos Wuand Mr Timothy Wong Ka Ho, whose opinions reflect the results of a vote made by AHKRJ members.

The Panel commended the connections of each of the final nominees for the excellent performances by their horses in this season.

Winners of the Champion Awards, the Most Popular Horse and Jockey of the Year will be announced at the presentation ceremony of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2006/2007 during the season-end race meeting on Monday 2 July.

In addition, the trainer, jockey and apprentice jockey with the highest number of wins in the season will be crowned the Champion Trainer, Champion Jockey and Champion Apprentice.
