![]() How many homeruns did ARod have going into the series with the Red Sox? I believe it was 14. Everyone was saying ARod was the ABomb, the Second Coming, blah, blah, blah. And that he was on his way to having the greatest April in all time. I believe, though, he fell short to Pujols.
On to Pletcher. He has a bang up Oaks day with a filly, Rags to Riches, that is clearly at the top of the 3yo female division....so good that there are even rumors floated she should run in the Belmont. Pletcher on Derby day bats 0 for 5. ARod exits the series with the Sox with still 14 HR. He basically didn't do ****, just like Todd P.on Derby Day. |

![]() Byalip: suprised by this one...ARod tied Pujols. And I'm sure both of us, if not the entire industry would changes places with Todd!....or Arod for that matter. Come out of the closet ...you...Boston person!

Okay, I'll give you props for getting the ARod/Pujols stat right, but my point stands: both ARod and Pletcher are way overhyped as gods. Specifically, Pletcher reminds me of Frankel a few years ago. People thought he walked on water. When they get good horses--like the fillies Megahertz or Rags to Riches--they do well. But it's still all about the horses. Pletcher had a B string of horses in the Derby. People who thought this was his year are crazy. |
