Default Flower Alley

Well I guess I was right about it being by design that he started late this year, Pletcher said no setbacks on the front page of the DRF today. he just ran on a wet track in his 2006 debut and just switched leads late and crushed em with a great last 1/4. All you guys who were chiding me about saying hes the best this year, no doubt, and where has he been blah blah. Well hes back, and back in style and hes going to be the head honcho this year!!!!!! Eat that BOYS!!!

Good luck trying to beat this horse this years guys, you will need it. Be even fitter on Whitney day and this was a PERFECT prep to get him there. Noone will touch this horse this year, hes got HOY written all over him.

Yeah he looked pretty good today. He looked rusty when trying to switch leads, but once he did he just took off. Then again, he didnt beat much but I dont understand why anyone would not believe he is the top older horse in the nation.

So beating Park Avenue Ball and Gold and Roses proves hes best?

Glad his return went okay, I didnt see the race. Too busy seeing the Sox win their 8th straight

He does love Saratoga and I would agree he will be tough to beat on Whitney Day. Unless Lava Man flies here.

Who would he run against?

Been on him since Travers last year and waiting for him to develop into the best horse in the country...I think he's almost there now.

I cant see someone beating Flower Alley at Saratoga. In fact, I dont see this horse losing until the Classic. I cant see Lava Flying in to take on Flower Alley--why would he. The older division SUCKS this year. Unless someone steps up, it is going to be boring. Maybe Bellamy Road who is training down in Florida can do something (but I doubt it).

Come on Tim you can do better than that. Talking all that trash about him. yeah they werent grade one horses but they were a salty bunch. Johnny ride him late and he exploded in two strides and just took off, looked like a monster physically as well, hes really filled out. Two turn mile in 1:35:4 on a wet track that hasnt been very fast since becoming sloppy and sealed. Trust me its a big fig to come back on but no so big that he will bounce next time. It was absolutely the most perfect comeback race that a trainer could hope for. WHitney is next, and hes going to crush them.

What exact trash did I talk except for the fact that a layed off horse doesnt get kudos for being layed up. I give more credit to Lava Man for beating nothings on the West Coast than to a horse who didnt run for 9 months.

I never said this horse wasnt very talented. I know it and it looks like he came back strong and the rest of the older horses on the east coast are going to have their work cut out for them.

I think Flower Alley is also leader in the clubhouse for top handicapp horse, but I also was just watching David Ortiz be David Ortiz. Unstoppable.

Bernardini should just get better and better considering his breeding. He might already be better than Flower Alley. I wouldn't go counting out Rathor in the Whitney either.

Tim you knocked his layoff and quite frankly you knock Todd all the time. What he did was brilliant. Hoy isnt won the 1st half of the year and it sure isnt won in Dubai. Its won in races like the BCC. He designed a second half of the year campaign aimed at having him dead fit and sharp in the BCC yet not over the top in his form. And unlike GZ's very brief 4Yo campaign, this one will also have stops at The WHitney and the Woodward, maybe the JCGC. In any case, the knockers on Todd and this horse are gonna have it shoved down their throats pretty good this year. This horse may have been teh most underrated horse I have seen in years last year. Perhaps I am biased because I was told my someone who would know that he had a legit excuse in the JCGC that the press was never really told about, an airway problem where he displaced or entrapped. You chuck that race and his Jim Dandy, Travers and ERSPECIALLY his BCC where he finished far ahead of soem damn good horses while making the HOY work hard to get by him(and earn a huge sheet number in the process) was exteremly underrated by the "experts", lol. He was only three, and not many three year olds run a race like that in the BCC.
Hes going to be a terror from here on in and good luck to his opponents, they will certainly need it.

It was just nice to see him run and let the knockers know that they can stop teh fantasizing about Lava Man, etc being the champ. The future champ was a little late arriving at the party but hes here now, and the rest are screwed.

What did he end up going off at Mike?

You are right, it was a salty group and I would have taken a shot with Network if he was 4/1 or higher.
