Default Coach Knight -

What say you on this new deal?

Myself, it is not even news if anyone other then Coach Knight does it. Those are not kids he is coaching, they are men. Once again, the media blows it up into something it is not, an issue.

He said, if you read his lips, "Look at me" right after the "attention getter" - ain't no thing man. People need to find someone else to pick on.

I'm sick of hearing about it, but did he have to strike him like that. Couldn't he have just grabbed the kids chin and picked it up. If he would have just said "Look at me right now" in a loud voice, I guarantee the kid would have picked his head right up. I don't think it was wrong, but could have been handled a lot better.

Knights' been a bully for forever! The player is not his property, so he shouldn't touch him. The man is a maniac, and as a coach, you have to play His system on order to win. I don't think he makes his player better for the next level. I wish he'd retire and go kick some cows!

Timm,
This might amaze you, but I have to say it.
I like Bobby Knight.
I have since I saw him fly fishing with his buddy Jerry McGuinnis on the "Fishin' Hole". Sure, he's got some "anger management" issues. Most people that have a desire to win do.
You might be completely correct that he should retire. The times have changed. There are no longer Vince Lombardi's either.
This "incident" is one of many for Bobby K.
Times have changed. Drive to win hasn't.

DTS: Appreciate that he shares your enthusiam for fly-fishing BUT....flying into rages is alot more than anger management issues. This dude has always been out of control. He reminds me of the movie "The Great Santini" where winning is everything, no matter who you crush. You've seen his news conferences, I'm sure, he has always had a 'chip' on his shoulder and I think he's a detriment to Sports!

the people that think he is out of control should read about him more and watch tape of him in practice as well as read about Lou Holtz putting empty 55 gallon drums out on the field when he coached Notre Dame so players had a place to puke because of dehydration because he did not want to let them have a break

spare me this crap, Coach Knight is a man amoungst men - the media treats College players like they are kids, they are adults - bs from page 1 to the end.......

if it is that bad they can at any time move on.....................

Hell my Golf Coach in High School got in my face worse then that, get real and grow a sack........

Timm,
That link to the article says it politely.
Yes, he's out of control.
Yes, his actions are detrimental.
IMHO he should retire and go fly fishing, before he hurts someone, or has a heart attack.
Seems though that incidents like this, and everyone comes to expect them from Bobby, get "blown up" bigger than they need to be.
Bobby hasn't learned a thing. He's oblivious that the camera is even on him.
It's like watching a NASCAR race waiting for another wreck.
