According to the Golden Gate Fields website, Jerry Hollendorfer confirms that 5th place Derby finisher Chocolate Candy will skip the Preakness.

Hollendorfer says the horse will target the Belmont, and will be there tomorrow (Monday). Mike Smith will ride again Chocolate Candy again in the Belmont, he says.

This has become a common strategy . Run in Derby and skipping the Preakness in favor of the Belmont .
