Default Marina Market

Didn't catch race, but saw the result.

Congrats to Marina Market and his DT Connections. Took down the feature at Big A today. Paid $16 to boot.

Mr. Sciacca triumphant in his return...

Very nice!!!

There is some power in the burdizzo at work with Marina Market as well..

Congrats to Dr. G and Super G... The Round Mound of Training Sound comes back... loudly.

As suggested the other day...

Thanks for all the support. Great to connect first time back with the "Pie Guy". It was very gratifying to see a genuine outflow of emotion from Gary--not often seen-- after his ordeal (which was grossly unfair IMO). The whole crew is to be commended on the job done with this gelding who can sometimes be a real handful to be around.
Bias or no bias he had to run hard every step of the way to hold off No Reply. I must say it was pretty sweet beating Darley with one of their castoffs.
CC thinks there could be bigger things ahead....Hope he's right.

That was a great race. I didn't see the speed bias having anything to do with the win. Twice in the stretch I thought he was beat and he fought back. Congratulations to all involved.

Congrats on the nice win. Funny how i remember my friend Andy who is Albertrani's assistant who said the horse needed to be gelded last year, but the sheik wont geld them. He just drops them in claimers and changes the owners name from Darley to South Elkhorn i believe.

Bias or not he made a sustained run until the last stride. Congrats.

Let's praise the sheik; his approach is certainly an extreme one in the game and he probably has NO peers, in this respect. On the other end of the spectrum, we could fill volumes with the many GELD-at-FIRST-SIGHT types:

1) Ward

2) Hough (How'd it work out with Trippi's Storm?)

3) any number of other good ole boys

etc.

These guys are keeping the legacy of George Odom going strong.

South Elkhorn is the outfit we claimed him from. When this horse showed up in the claiming race last October Gary and I did a lot of homework. From all reports he was pretty clean legwise, but heard his back end was a little weak and he didn't have much courage. To me he ran like he had a breathing problem, or since he was a ridgling, maybe that was causing him to back up. He always worked fast in the mornings so we figured he had ability (hell, I bet him against NoBiz in the Remsen). After we claimed him he scoped clean so we made the decision to geld him for that reason and not to just throw his nuts over the barn roof. Also, what idiot gelds an AP Indy out of a graded stakes winner? Dr. Selway who performed the surgery said the testicle was in a spot that had to be bothering him and was one of the worst he had seen. A little acupuncture and he has been pretty good so far. His only real bad effort was his first time out for us and I think it was just the wet track because he just does not like an off surface, 400 Tomlinson number be damned.

Thank you. He'll need every bit of luck and then some to sneak into the super.
