![]() Steve or anyone,
do you think beyers for the artificial stuff are coming up square? they still seem to be a little wacky sometimes. |

![]() WOW! Do you realize a couple of those horses actually ran as fast as Contessa's latest 2YO NY Bred sensation did last week?

![]() And, on a related note, the single highest Beyer figure belonged to another Contessa horse.

You could use the formula if you wanted to compare the figures to dirt: (Beyer - 80) X 1.3 + 80 So, for example, a horse with a 100 Beyer would be: (100 - 80) X 1.3 + 80 = 20 X 1.3 + 80 = 26 + 80 = 106 A horse with a 60 Beyer would be: (60 - 80) X 1.3 + 80 = -20 X 1.3 + 80 = -26 + 80 = 54 This works for turf as well, if you want to compare figures on different surfaces. I don't think it is worth the effort, as figures earned on different surfaces mean little.

![]() ..and to convert that whacky Celsius to Farenheit:
Farenheit = Celsius x 9/5 + 32 |

Unfortunately I have to use this equation daily but find F = 1.8 X C + 32 as easier to work with.....can't believe I just admitted what a geek world I live in... |

Thanks for this.. Players that don't make/keep their own figs can get a better appreciation for creating the nuances by comprehending this kind of adjustment. Not sure many noticed how sure you were Sunday of who was going to finish second behind, if not beat, Pepper's Pride. Having that little edge from pace or speed figuring is the differential in making the money necessary to stay ahead.
