Default X Games

I have never been one to care about the X games, but as I am sitting here watching this, these guys doing the tricks on the dirt bikes are out of their friggin minds!! These guys are nutty, this is crazy. Guy from Michigan has never competed in a competition before in his life, tries doing a double backflip in the X games, a trick he has never landed on dirt before in his life. Didn't end up so well, took a nasty spill but jumped right up.

Wonder if he will give the double back flip a go in his 2nd run.

I took a look at some of those ramps... holy mother of God!

I consider these guys real sportsmen because they love what they do and they certainly dont get paid much.

You guys need to take a look at the guy who after going down the ramp went up the other side, got to far out from the wall (probably pushed off before he left the ramp) and fell 50 friggin feet! down back on the structure. He was clawing at the air like it was going to save him.

He did however land in a very smart manner and did not get hurt. I thought I was getting ready to see bones poke thru skin.

Calculations on his speed when he hit up coming. I will give it in mph so it makes sense:

Vfinal^2 - Vinitial^2 = 2ad

Going right around 40 mph when he landed and did not break a bone...
Those ramps where hard. Maybe they have special padding in the shoes and other places on their legs.

That was a totally insane crash. I thought for sure the guy died. His sneakers went flying like 20 ft in the air because of the impact!

im not saying it is a sport i have great interest in, but seing these guys take the chances they are and risking a great deal of injury because they love their sport is fun to watch. Some of the tricks they do are pretty bad ass as well, but like someone said, I don't care about the scoring and who wins, I just like seeing these guys flying 40 ft in the air doing crazy stunts.

OK rof.. found it... Look at the size of these ramps SANTA MARIA!
And look at the fall. Thats at least a 40 mph smack down. And he did not break anything. I would be in a highly shattered form after this fall...

Yep he pushed off the wall as he was going up causing him to miss almost all of the slope of the ramp. Ungodly.

Looks like he may have cracked some ribs and screwed up a lung. I was wondering how he could come out unscathed... One just does not hit fairly rigid boards at that speed and not cause damage. Hope the kid is ok.
