Default Calder Saturday

Good days Thurs and Fri. I'll play these in Doubles, p-3's and p-4's and as otherwise noted.

Expect Fast/Firm or Good+

r1: 4,5. Also, 4, Undoubled Miss win at 4-1+
RESULT: 4, Unbridled Miss, wins $15.60. 5 runs second. $2 Ex pays $33

r2: 5,7,9,8. Also, #5, Festive Event, to win at 6-1+ and in Exacta Boxes with the others listed. Third start, stretch and S/R Centeno staying on. Should have a nice, close up trip.
RESULT: 5, Festive Event, wins $17.80. $2 DD (4-5) pays $142.

r3: 5,8,4
RESULT: 4, Dance Prince wins $4.40. $1 P-3 pays $177. Live to race 4 last leg of P-4 and also P-3.

r4: 7,1,5,4. Also #7, Prize Maker, to win at 6-1+ and Exacta Boxes with the others listed. Much better since race-change tactics that now put him in the mix earlier. That open $16k field he faced in last is MUCH stronger than these $25k limited winners.
RESULT: 5, Dancing in Gerarda, wins... $12.00. $1 p-3 (5-4-5) pays $114. $1 P-4 (4-5-4-5) pays $696. Pick 3's rolling on....

r5: 3,5,4
RESULT: 5 wins @ $4.20. $1 P-3 (4-5-5) pays $37.80. P-3's roll on....

r6: 4,6,2. Also, #4, Almost True to win at 5-1+. Big race turf sprinting in last and comes back to dirt vs a scraggly crew with the exception of #2, Blinka's Baby, who is suspect coming back after her win 5 weeks ago vs better with no works since.
RESULT: Tix busted thanks in part to horrid ride on the 4. Alas, I lament...

r7: 2,1,7
RESULT: Tix busted due to poor handicapping. Castro/Wolfson win it easy with 4th betting choice.

r8: 3,4,10. My Charmer Hcp looks chalky to me and I'll either pass or tread lightly.
RESULT: Tons of scratches, including my top two. Pass.

r9: 3,6,5. #4, Adrhythm' is a bet-against for me today coming back off the BC race. She looks like she'll be 7/5 or less, her figs are not that fast and she faces a far better field than the ones she pounded in the state-bred races. I'll play a 3-5-6 Exacta Box here.
RESULT: Adrhythm runs last at 1-1. $2 EX (5-3) pays a ridculous $91.

r 10: 2,6.3.
RESULT: 3 wins it at 6-1. Another big chalk, Green Vegas (7) gets run down. Good progress on the late p-4.

r11: 8,5,2. Trop Park Hcp looks very tough and you could go 6 deep or deeper. This race is a pass for me unless the three graded winners on the outside, #9 Giant Wrecker, #10 Gun Salute or #12 Drum Major are overbet.
RESULT: 5, Ballast wins @ $9.40. Alive to some very nice p-3's and p-4's going into the last.

r12: 6,1,11,3 . Also, #6, Song of Myself, to win at 6-1+ and in Exacta Boxes with the others listed. Wide speed/fade to quick pace in first start while taking some action. Goes 2-turns, adds Centeno and will be up close which is where I prefer to be in 2 YO filly maiden races.
RESULT: 1, Durango Light wins it at $15.60.
$2 DD (5-1) $85
$1 P-3 (3-5-1) $450
$1 P-4 (5-3-5-1) $2,052.

good luck. enjoy the day.

Plop some $$$ down on my girl Jacaranda Jane in the 8th STS. Not a lot, but she does have a tendency to atleast get up for some of the $$$. Hopefully her odds will stay as they are.

Default Wolfson/Bravo

Watch out for Brazilian today. Horse was obviously laid up and Wolfson brought her back to life. She is a MONSTER as I remember her Gulfstream race two back vividly becuase she was hopefully beaten and the horse that ran 2nd had a nice lead and just kept going, and Brazilian still caught her. (I had the 2nd place horse on top at like 24/1 which is why I remember)

Wolfson does great with this kind and if she is anything near 12/1 ML, she is a bet, my guess is that you will get about half that.....

exact reason why I don't tout tickets

Young Bridgmo seems to be speed happy today, made crazy middle move in the 1st and now didn't let this 2 horse get along.....

you got a lousy ride from Homeister on the 5. Very fast 2nd Qtr. The 2 was going nowhere.

How did the #3 Post Invader look in race 9???

I loved her down at Calder at beginning of year but her last race in Calder she ran brutal at 1 1/16

Can anyone tell me was she showing good speed at the end (She is a closer)or was she tiring with the distance??

THANKS

She ran great. Closed from last to be a clear second. The winner, Meditating, ran a huge race and won by 5 or 6 lengths but your girl ran very well.
