Apparently, a horse named Street Sense has won the Breeders Cup Juvenile...

Sorry, couldn't help it.

lol I hit the WP bet on that horse, and I couldn't even cheer him down the lane until he was 5 clear and was almost hitting the wire. The way ESPN did the camera angle, as a viewer you couldn't tell who was who. But Denman is front and center so he should've been able to.

I just remember before the final turn you could see Street Sense flying up the inside, and then they did some weird, closeup front angle, and it was tough telling who was who. Except Denman kepy saying "CIRCULAR QUAY! CIRCULAR QUAY!" When he really meant "Street Sense" lol.

I was thinking to myself- "I see my horse flying up on the inside with a flurry. Did he stop on a dime?" Nope. Just like evolution and global warming, Denman, along with Dubya, refused to accept the existaense of Street Sense lol.

But everyone makes mistakes, he called the races pretty good beyond that major blunder. Still... THESE ARE DURKIN'S RACES. PLEASE BRING HIM BACK!!!!

I agree, bring Tom Durkin back. I like Trevor, but I really was surprised by some of the things he didn't pick up on. I thought it was Great Hunter making Street Sense's move, and Fleet Indian was almost stopped b4 he mentioned her. I can understand him not seeing Pine Island go down, though I'm willing to bet Durkin would have.

tom durkin signed his contract knowing full well he was signing away his bc calling. he won't be back. he is ok with that, so i guess everyone else will have to be as well.

I love that day before the cup when they have the races called by different callers from around the country. adds some variety and lets you experience them one after another so in a way you can compare them. I think they all bring something unique.

Not really. There are about ten other racecallers I'd choose before I let Denman back within a mile of a BC event.

Kruytbosch needs to do it.

i'm not saying be happy with denman, just saying there's no sense in wishing for durkin to return anytime in the next few years.

Yeah, I know about his contract. he seemed happy enough with his deal in his Bloodhorse chat. He's out.

I was just a little surprised by Denman's calls. He'll get a second chance next year, but if he screws that up I'm for Kruytbosch as well.

wonder who they don't just use the track caller?? when the track gets their turn, so does their in-house guy...as long as battaglia is never the track caller!!

LORD GOD, PLEASE NO Battaglia. My 2 closest tracks are TP and RD. And you KNOW who we put up with at TP. My god, I think he might be THE number one cause of migraines in Northern Ky.

It seems reasonable that the in-house guy handle it, have no idea aboot the politics behind these things......

When you have nightmares I'm sure there is one sound echoing over and over in your brain " for the lead".
