Default Sweetnorthernsaint Back

Very excited about this. Think he has a real big future ahead of him and a gelding to boot....How long till Pletcher tries to get his mitts on him?

Quite an interesting spot to bring him back, racing kinda ends at the BC until mid December so I see no reason to bring him back now, maybe they are considering the Cigar Mile and want to see what they have under the hood as of the 19th, otherwise, what races could they be pointing to in November/December? There isn't many...I actually think he is going to be a REAL good 4 year old, like Whitney winner good. His sire throws horses that get better with age and routing. Given his connection, his price will always be somewhat fair in the bigger races that draw Frankel, Pletcher, and Zito into.

Scavs, Steve might be able to find out from Trombetta about this but I'm thinking why not take a swing at the Strub series out west?

Trombetta doesn't necessarily send out West, but that starts in January doesn't it, or does it start in December?

If it is December then it makes sense.....I find it hard to believe that Trombetta would ship back in forth between races (think LITF with all those trips to NY and Calder from Cali) and I am guessing that SNS is being considered as a Classic horse for next year... can't wait to hear from Steve what their overall plan is, but this start puzzles me a little, given the time frame.....

Remember Schosberg sent Attila's out there for it, and he basically never shipped either. If you have the horse, you go where the cash is.

Default There is money in NY also

so I don't think that is the reason, what I question is where does Trombetta winter?

Maybe Trombetta is sick of the cold and he wants to work on his tan in Cali and will ship out there and stay there for a while

If I had to guess, they are seeing what is under the hood right now and possibly take a chance in the Cigar Mile, then some stake race at Calder and then get ready for the older horse races at Gulfstream/Oaklawn/Fairgrounds, my guess though, and I don't know that much...

I'm sick of the cold already, and its October.

I went to the Met game last night and luckily it was really nice out. Tonight they will freeze their ass off.

I really hope they don't run this one on those death runways out west. Probably best to save him for GP and maybe make a run at The Donn.

Especially if he has problems with his feet, which I think Trombetta said once

I didn't doubt he'd come back. He's gelded and he's been working pretty consistently in the last month or so.
