Future Breeders Cup Locations

We all know it is at Monouth in 2007. But word around the industry is that it will be back at Churchill in 2008. There is also pressure from the European horseman and horsewomen to have the races at Churchill every year. Not sure what I think about that. I guess one thing is the attendace at the Breeders Cup when it is at Churchill compared to other places. The knock on Florida and Cali is the weather is not suitable for Euro horses and the kock at Belmont is that a couple of races become a 1 turn race. I would love to see it at Churchill every year, but I think there should be some sort of track rotation.

Just wondering if the NTRA and BC are going to get caught up in the "lets rebuild New Orleans "and consider the FG?

If they F the track up like that again, it should never come back there. I come to expect it on Derby Day, but not on BC day.

I had a great time at Churchill, and do think the BC should be there somewhere around every three and a half years, but let's not get too excited about fabricated attendance figures. I am sure they had a big crowd but nobody should actually believe either their BC numbers or their Derby numbers.

What they really need to do is hire an outside consultant to set the place up for food and beverage service. Getting food was absurd...and what you got was not special. While I happen to enjoy still frozen chicken tenders I am guessing many don't.

The food service at Churchill has always been a disaster. I like how you had to make your own hot chocolate. I agree with about every 3 years. I would like to see a Belmont, Churchill rotation and then throw in an Arlington, Monmouth etc etc on the non Belmont/Churchill year.

Definitely agree with that. At the Derby you can't find anything interesting to eat and they completely rape you with their prices...I imagine the BC was the same. And did they not add a single extra bathroom in the renovation? I find they should bring in more betting computers as well as the lines are ridiculous.

I know one thing, they raise the hell out of their prices for BC day. Sandwiches that were $6 on Friday were $8 on Saturday. Water went from $2.50 to $3.

I hear a lot of criticism of another racing jurisdiction but I know they don't pull a cheap shot like that....and would get villified if they did.

CD is far superior to Arlington's BC that is for sure. Not sure about the outside food stands but the Carolina B'Bque stand by gate 119 was awesome. Best was after the 9th walking by and being hawked for half price sandwiches when we were headed there for more anyway. I'd vote for CD to host every year that's for sure.

Not only that, but since they won't allow anything brought into the gates and they jack up their prices, they are only hurting themselves by people having less money to bet with. I believe they are the only track that charges so high for general admission as well. Their seat prices on their big racing days certainly blows away anything you see in the NY tracks, I'm not sure about the CA or Arlington tracks.

I tend to eat very little at the track...

I'll drink myself under the table, though! LMAO!!! As long as there's a bar within walking distance, I'm a happy camper.

Why are you people buying food there anyway. You can bring in your own food. We brought some snickers, sandwiches, chips and cookies. The only thing we bought were two pepsis and 3 hot chocolates.

They wouldn't let me walk in with a half a water! And, while we're on it, the strip search at the gate, that had literally thousands of people backed up, was as absurd as it was stupid.

If you bet enough on your Twin Spires card you get free admission.
But for the general public at Arlington its $6 admission I believe. I remember on BC day at Arlington there was a nice surprise waiting for the regular patrons when they arrived on BC day, $9 admission!

The food is expensive but not horrible at AP. I think you can still get a hot dog and a coke for $7.50.

Yeah you cant bring in any type of liquid at all. No exceptions.

Atleast at Churchill you won't have to cap the races.That would not be useful there.Simply see which posts are smokin' hot.Don't have to buy a form for the dirt races.

My personal favorite moment from the Derby is when they only had two exits for over 100,000 people (mostly drunk) after it was all over.

however they do throw in an arlington program for your six bucks, so it's not like a total rip off.
