Default Venue September 8th Kentucky Downs

The pickings are slim this week. Kentucky Downs has the best stakes card and that will be the venue choice despite the chance of thunderstorms which could wreck havoc on an all turf card. It's a compact 10 race card with an eastern post time of 2:25 (I think).

I think you've made an excellent choice, RQ. Kentucky Downs should provide a real change of pace from the higher profile tracks, but we are still going to see the top tier of jockeys and trainers - other than Chad Brown, who must have run all of his turf horses in the final week at Saratoga.

Most of all, we will see full fields in every race, with as many as 4 AE's in 6 of the races. No danger of races coming off of the turf or handicapping for the possibility of MTO's. And watching races at Kentucky Downs is a real treat - very reminiscent of racing in Ireland or some track in England.

I'm going to go out on a limb as suggest that scores will probably be much lower than we are accustomed to. There are some real handicapping puzzles in that 10 race card. I can't wait to get started.
