That has got to be two of the most inept major teams I have seen this year. That game was so bad it was exciting... is that possible?. ND may have the worst run defense of any top 20 team I have ever seen. Go for it on 4th and 8 in the middle of the 3rd quarter behind by 10? Why... cause you cant stop the run unless every man is on the line of scrimmage.
ND is going to get crushed later on. Good luck ND fans, you got a long season ahead.

Michigan State... consistently stupid plays. Good Lord on the last drive before the int. occured one of their WR tried to say INBOUNDS when they got like 40 seconds left and one time out. That has either got to be one of the worst coached top programs I have seen or they recruit kids that have had brain trauma. I am so sorry for anyone that is a fan of this team. What a pitiful mental performance.

Mich ST. pulled the same stupidity last year but ended up winning the game anyway because ND's defense was so bad.

A bad good game.

P your much too hard on them. Were there mistakes made? Of course, but after 3 hours of grueling football in a freaking monsoon, it has to take its toll. The run defense is bad only because they have to cover their poor ass corners. The big kid from michigan is just a freaking beats. What like 6-4 250 and runs a 4.5 40. Thats only moderately scary. At least they scored points, I'll take a game like this over a game like LSU-AUB last week.

P look at Notre Dames schedule, who's going to beat them? Purdue is the worst undefeated team in history, Stanford's team is just horrific-UCLA was proven to be fraud today. They have no defense. All Navy does is run, that means the corners can't get beat on double moves, which means more men in the box. Easy win. North Carolina, uh ya what can ya say. Air force is playing solid just not enough talent to keep up. Army sucks like always. That leaves us with USC which could quite possibly beat them, but i haven't been super impressed with them this year.

So even if one of those middle teams beat them and they lose to USC they go 9-3. Not a superstar year but by no means horrible. They could very easily go 11-1 as well. This huge win gives the confidence back to the offense and defense after they were handed their asses by michigan.

Good analysis Skippy

ND is not a great team but they are certainly a top 15 team. The remaining schedule is pretty soft with the exception of USC on the road. Looks like 10-2 with a date in the Orange or Rose bowl.

Grueling? Mich St. was moving the ball at will. And then they go into a shell. They did exactly the same thing last year. Exactly.
Did you see that kick off return where the kid just took a knee? OMG the mistakes went on forever. The number of Mich State fans that will commit suicide tonight should be at an all time high, but I have a feeling all attempts will be botched so the student body has that going for them. Dont fret East Lansing parents, your kids will be fine.
Skips that was and absolutely horribly played game. The weather should not affect the ability to think straight. ND is flat out bad. They just are. They will find a way to lose. They tried so hard to lose tonight, but Mich St. refused to let them.
Weiss is the most patient man alive.

They are bad. Im gonna be lookin for some of those ND games for my bro. Brady Quinn is running for his life half the time because his fat linemen cant block, their tackling is horrible, they have very slow corners. I have seen enough. Nah I should not say that. Any college team can get better. But that game was awful. They will lose BEFORE USC if they keep playing like this. No doubt in my mind. No doubt. I dont know who it will be, but its coming.

Watch the whole game coach. It was all lobotimized Mich ST. LIke I said, ND did their best to try and blow the game but Mich St. refused to let them. ND made some incrediby stupid mistakes in the 2nd half of that game also.

I mean for God's sake, the are down by 10, HALFWAY thru the 3rd quarter, they got 4th and 8, and they GO FOR IT. What does that tell you that Weiss thinks about their defense? Did you see how many times ND went on 4th down? What does that tell you about their D?
Brady Quinn is a really tough guy though. He spent all night either running around throwing while falling, or dropping so deep that he had time to scramble around because he is elusive. Quinn is the goods. I always look for QB that have bad O-lines and still get the job done. Especially in all that wind. I like that kid alot.

What is this! The smartest guy on the board spelling a lot "alot"?
Perhaps it was a typo, but I'm going to have to phone the UT Physics Dept.
I can go either way on the Irish, but I love a team that shows that kind of heart...granted the Spartans flubbed it, BQ 5 TD passes, back in Heisman hunt

P,
You can say MSU beat themselves but ND had a say in that no? Didn't they force and recover a fumble and intercept two balls. Sure Stanton had to throw them, but didn't ND have to catch them. Beyond that, TO's do not give you points. The Irish still had to put the ball in the endzone. Both teams made mistakes, like most college teams do; but you can't blame the loss on MSU without giving ND at least partial credit. They took great advantage of the oppurtunties that presented themselves.

Smartest guy on the board? At what? If Im the smartest guy on this board then this board is severly disabled.
And who the hell ever said I could spell? I am a horrible speller.
But by golly I like college and pro football.

Pgardn sez... 1st pick in the draft next year, out of Oklahoma, Adrian Peterson; An Eric Dickerson clone that can catch the ball. And where is the guy from Texas that pgardn said was at best a mediocre running back that Mel Kuiper said would be the #1 pick, Cedric Benson? Mel Kuiper... what the hell does the guy watch anyway? That was the worst all time assessment of talent.

BTW. I cant believe this board has not had some discussion about the Oregon-OU game of last week. That Pac-10 officiating rule has got to go.
