![]() I live by the motto 'If it's free, it's for me, and can I take three!?' -- so I was up at the casino this evening to use my weekend free food, free drink, and free $25 match play bet they give me.
I arrive before the 9th and final race at Mountaineer. One of the night bettors that's always there tells me that five of the eight horses who've won on this card, so far, at Mountaineer had broke from post position #1. He also said that posts 1-2-3 made up huge trifectas in the last two races at Mountaineer the day before. He told me "I think the rail is really good -- but I don't think any of the jockeys do. At least they aren't riding like they do." I didn't think much of it and went on my way to go and get all of my free goodies. As I'm getting my free Jack and Coke a few minutes later -- I notice that a 166/1 shot (#2) just won at Mountaineer Park. A 38/1 (#1) longshot was 2nd. Here's the chart: http://www1.drf.com/drfPDFChartRaces...=20121027&RN=9 Here's the video replay of the race ... note that both the 166/1 shot winner and 38/1 shot 2nd place finisher raced on the rail every step of the way. http://www1.drf.com/displayVideo.do?...=D&country=USA I went back and found the bettor I talked to earlier -- he didn't have anything. "I couldn't have bet either one of those two pigs if they were given a ten length head start" |

![]() And in other West Va. racing news...
Charles Town hadn't run in a week and was dark everyday since last Saturday's card which featured two controversial DQ's ... one of which got me to start a ranting thread. Well, Charles Town returned to live racing in style last night ... with another controversial disqualification that has already led to an 11-post thread about it on another board. http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=98713 The stewards at that place just can't help themselves. |

![]() I don't think they have a titty bar in Chester or Newel but maybe across the bridge in East Liverpool lol

![]() Loved Peter Berry's call when they crossed the line:
"Have I got the right horse here? Winter Ridge, at 100-1?!?" ![]()

![]() Peter Berry does a fantastic job calling the races at Mountaineer.

![]() I agree. His calls are the only reason I'll watch a race at the Mountain.
