Default The Belmont

Ok....very rarely to I talk bad about horses, but this race, IMHO, is just flat AWFUL. I just downloaded the PP's and disappointed is the first word that comes to mind. There are some good races on the card, but the feature is just plain bad...

yes, it is rather disappointing. Luckily, there are a few that can easily be thrown out and constructing a logical wager shouldnt be that difficult.

Not excited by it either. Like the Woody Stephens though. Should be a wickedly fast pace.

I guess you can look at it that way, but I would have ZERO clue who to bet. I LOVE Sunriver and have for a long time, but I will be hard pressed to bet him at what is sure to be a short price. At 1 1/2 mile, anything can happen. Kinda glad I will be too busy at work to try and bet it.

Exceller friend of mine has a horse in there, Dontrearthereaper. hes owned by WInged Foot racing which is headed by Dennis Barbierri. Hes a cloer and while seemingly a little overmatched, hes a closer and if they battle like they should, he may get up for a piece at a price. Nice horse to use in the trifecta at a price.

Randy if he wins you gotta come to the picture. Dennis is just an awesome guy and would love to have as many rooters as he could. he also owns the wickedly fast NY bred My Dynomite.

Nice to see that Reaper will have some fans in the crowd Saturday. I've gotten to know all of the guys in Winged Foot over the past year and they are all top notch. I own a piece of their 3 yo Filly Dinnerinthemeadow myself. Dennis gives equal treatment to all the owners, whether they own 2 or 20%, and is a real class guy. Wanted to get up to Belmont to be with the rest of the guys but unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I agree that Reaper certainly seems to be overmatched here, but is certainly capable of getting a piece. He would have won the Romano Gucci against Fabulous Strike had it been 7f instead of 6.5f.

I thought this race was cut and dry Too Much Bling dominates, but he's coming off of a 5 point top, he's had a long time off, but who knows how he'll react. Songster looks like a bounce coming back on short rest and likely to bounce with short rest. I think KE will be a little dulled after the Triple Crown prep and Derby run. Wouldn't be surprised at all for Don'tfearthereaper, besides, Blue Oyster Cult rules and they play Don'tfearthereaper in my favorite movie of all time Halloween...

I think you are more likey to be in a picture with your filly. DFR just doesn't belong in that race. Saint Daimon probably will run tomorrow which means that DFR is ranked as my last horse in that race. I think Keyed Entry takes it and I like the horse Likely and Too Much Bling to finish out the top 3. Good luck to the horse, but based on figures he just doesn't figure in there.

Like I said, although he has seen some of these horses before, Reaper has never faced the likes of Bling, K.E., Songster, etc.... Certainly won't pick him to win, but wouldn't be shocked if he hit the bottom of the tri. And just so there's no confusion, I only have a piece of the filly, not Reaper. Just affliated with the stable on him and know all the guys well.

One other thing I wanted to mention is that there's is a lot of good information that you guys give out on the board. I'm still a rookie in most aspects of this game, so you won't see me posting a whole lot, but I feel there is a lot I can and have learned already from you vets.

Oracle - been reading on the other board for a long time and I remember how you bet the Derby (keying SW for 2nd and 3rd). As soon as I saw the past performances for this race, I immediately thought of doing the exact thing with Dontfearthereaper. He should definitely be pickin up the pieces after a wicked first 6F.

In case some missed it, Pletcher said Keyed Entry is unlikely to run.
