Tragic...Indy racing is simply the most dangerous of motor sports, smaller and lighter vehicles with less protection and greater speed. The question as to whether these open-wheeled vehicles belong on tracks such as Vegas designed for NASCAR is debatable, I for one am glad to see Danica move to Nationwide series...wish others would follow.

The whole notion of racing these things on high banked ovals is ludicrous. A schedule that would consist of Indy, maybe Loudon, and then road courses the rest of the season would go a long way in stemming incidences like this.

Met the guy at the St. Pete GP in '05 - super great dude.
