Sea the Joy (Emigh), Change Up (Castanon) and Nola Star (Guidry) battled 3 across in stupidly fast fractions. As I said, they went 1/2 in :45 flat on the muddiest mess of a track you could imagine.

Lisa M came from last to first to get Sutra at the line...how in the world it was not a dead heat between those two is beyond me. Another 1/2 length back in 3rd was fast closing Call The Kitty. The 3 pace setters finish in the last 3 spots. Nola Star actually ran a very strong race being 3 wide the whole way. Once they turn for home, she pulled away from her 2 early rivals pretty easily.

Lisa M (35-1) paid $73 to win. Sutra went off at 8-1 and Call The Kitty was dismissed at 48-1. Amazingly, with all the favorites off the board, none of those 3 horses paid double digits for the show.
