![]() After digesting it a bit yesterdays results were far from a visit to bizzaro world. I didn't adjust as much as I should since previously I adjusted myself right out of a pick 4. But lets go over the Pick 6
4-It's Tricky's Beyer best of last 3 beyer was only 3 points of the highest and doesn't Kiran usually come up with a suprise on a big NY day. Not an overwhelming reach here. 3-Trappe Shot Owned best of last 3 beyer and highest off track Beyer. 2-Justin Phillip Owned best off track Beyer in the race 4-CS Silk Owned best off track Beyer in the race 1a-Mission Approved. Best of last 3 Beyer was only 3 off the top. 97 Beyer on off track certainly showed potential. I won't even go into horses on the front end on the turf course. 3_Ruler on Ice. Only 1 of 2 horses showing an off track win and had the third best Off track Beyer. As usual Belmont day is a great chance to cash meaningful tickets. Feeling like I let one get away as ****ing AROD was my only cash and the hole was way too deep for that to get me out. I'll take days like yesterday over the Preakness chalkfest any day. |

![]() Not buying it on the last two. Mission Approved and Ruler On Ice were both near impossible to have. Aside from that, yeah, it wasn't freakish.

![]() C S Silk was useable/findable.
Mission Approved and Ruler On Ice felt like auto-tosses... and if I handicap those races 100 more times, I still toss them. |

![]() Mission Approved nearly beat Gio Ponti on the lead. The bias was favoring those on the lead. I had him as a C. Ruler on ice was the hard one that was nowhere on my tickets.

![]() Yeah but the presence of Straight Story, and the recent wire job by C S Silk would lead me to believe that both try and go, thus mitigating their chances a bit, or the layoff kicks in on Mission Approved. I was all about beating Gio Ponti, I just though Mission Approved was less likely to stick around on the front than Straight Story. Really hard to think otherwise, even in hindsight.

![]() Quote:
agreed. Straight Story in the race all fooled us into thinking that Mission would have a hard time duplicating something near his last race let alone give him chance in hell to win. Talent and class in the race none showed up to win in the Manhattan |

![]() Ruler on ice was probably the horse with the least chance to win in the race. Only reason to select the horse was not from handicapping but from the connections. I mean you can even look at horrible winners like Da tara and commendable yet still find solid basis in selecting them to win. With this one cannot find one concrete thing to suggest he would win. That must of been some jump in blood cell count for him to put in a winning performance.

![]() At the paddock before the race, two little boys passed out Ruler on Ice buttons to the spectators. We all took one, and then, after the boys were out of earshot, made jokes about Ruler on Ice's chances. After the race, I kept the button, to put in my mouth right next to the large helping of crow.

![]() The problem with Mission Approved's chances, at least in my mind, was that he hadn't run in freaking 11 months. How many horses win G1's loafing along on the lead after a year on the shelf?
