Default BIG SATURDAY: Stakes Galore..

The Belmont Opener proved as tricky as predicted with a $40k carryover already available going into Saturday's Triple Gr. I card. The Garden City, Gazelle and Man O'War will all be part of the Race 5-10 Pick Six which begins with and ends with impossible Maiden Specials on the lawn, the 5th for some premium horseflesh at a mile and the 10th for state breds at 8.5f.

Besides the action in Elmont, Delaware Park cards their Owners' Day with the Kent and Endine; Monmouth offers the rescheduled Red Bank where Miesque's Approval looks vulnerable; Turfway features the Gr. III Fall Championship; and Arlinton invites everyone to Pucker Up (Gr. III)...

Race 1
Either part of the Godolphin entry works for me. This is a nice competitive field, though either 1 or 1A could be odds-on and tower over this group. #6 OUTPERFORMANCE drops back to a level where he has been very competitive. #8 YANKEE MASTER might get a better trip than last time, and should be in the thick of it.
I will key 1 over the other two mentioned in the exacta, and possibly a tri, using a few others. I may well do that with #6 also.

Race 2
A crapshoot, unless you know something more. I somewhat like #5 LIBERTARIAN to improve with a better start and trip, plus a little jungle juice. Wonder why Mr.Evans sold this one. Tagg's #6 NOBIZ LIKE SHOWBIZ is working like a well-ment first-timer, and 1A BULLARA is the obvious chalk.
I might use these in the double, pik 4 and box them in the exacta.

Race 3
Wide open. #5 SIR HALORY has run his best here, and is probably better than his last. Zito's #1 GREAT POINT ran to within a length of Barbaro in the Gulfstream slop. A surprise return to that form would put him in the winner's circle. You can make a case for the others also.
An ALL button play in the pik 4.

Race 5
#12 PULPITEER deserves another shot, after a bad start last time. Today's post won't help the situation. Mike Maker's #7 CHARLES THE FIRST finished full of run in WV, and could light up the board here, in a possibly weak race. Same with the Ellis shipper #2 SWINN.
A GOOD RACE TO PASS IF THE CASH IS SHORT OR IF YOU ARE LIVE IN A MULTI-RACE GIMMICK.

Race 6
Obviously everyone sees #6 COTTON KING airing in here at a short price. 1A OZ may well improve after being caught in the middle of a pace duel last time. #4 SCANLON'S SONG is my bomb choice to fill the bottom of the tri.

Race 7
I like Jeremy Noseda shipping in here with #4 LA MOTTIE, who falls into a "must play" situation for me being a shipper who ran at Royal Ascot. This Noseda runner has to be here for a reason. #9 TAKE THE RIBBON was the victim of a poor ride out west, where he stayed on the rail far too long. A positive jock switch should help in a tough group today. #2 MAY NIGHT has surprisingly high power #s and could be a gimmick bomb along with #3 DELMARVA.
I will box these four in the exacta and tri.

Race 8
I love the fave #2 BUSHFIRE. She has been my bread and butter all year. But all good things come to an end. #4 TEAMMATE seems to be finally rounding into form, and I see this one and BUSHFIRE as setting it all up for the closer #5 PINE ISLAND. The one-turn nine furlongs should play against the speed. The plodder gets up today, unfortunately. #6 WILD FIT will also be keyed on top in case she is finally ready and the others are sub-par today. I would have rested BUSHFIRE until Ky.Cup day at Turfway or the Keeneland Spinster.

Race 9
I would not be surprised to see #7 RELAXED GESTURE bounce out on the bill and take this all the way. Hopefully #6 CACIQUE will lay back early. I would avoid #3 SHOWING UP if he is even money or less.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
