Default Astrology to Sunland Derby

Fresh off of a "Grade 2" Tampa Derby - where the odds-on favorite had never run a Beyer faster than 84 in his career .... we are now going to see a horse probably go favorite in the 800K Grade 3 Sunland Derby - who has never run a single figure in the 80's.

The Pecarraro colt in there can run a little as well.

If he had spelled it correctly, I might question whether his login was stolen.

His lone two-turn dirt win was a very strong performance for a mid Aug 2yo. It was a perfectly dry main-track. A 74 at that distance is a lot like a 90 for a 2yo going 5.5f that time of year.

He was in a no-holds barred speed duel on turf two-back.

His Champagne he was head-and-head with Uncle Mo through a 22 2/5 first quarter. I like the layoff line.

I can be completely wrong - but I think he's a better horse than his form suggests and I like that his trainer - who I know is fairly conservative even if I can't spell his name right - seriously considered entering him in either the Timely Writer or Tampa Derby first off a layoff. I think if he develops he's ok.

I don't care about the horse....I was joking about your spelling of his trainer's name.

That was pretty obvious....right?

Oh.

I went with carr instead of cor ... cut me some slack ... I mostly have heard his name from race calls at Tampa Downs ... Grunder is big on giving trainers ' a shout out' right before the horse crosses the wire victorious.

Plus - you're not exactly talking to someone with a degree in English over here.

Pecoraro's name is Italian - and last I checked you have a vowel on the end of yours. Very shameful. . .

I'm much better with Puerto Rican names.

For instance, unlike BTW, I never had a habit of spelling John Velazquez with an s intead of a z.
