Default Congrats Mr. D!

I'm sure it was mentioned but IMO the highlight of this Million was watching Mr. D win the Bev. D.

And yes a billionaire can cry.

Kenny Black had been working this filly (Eclair de Lune) back in February and March and he told me she was one of the best fillies he's ever been on. In her first race here back in March (which was a one mile allowance race), he told me that he thought the distance might be a little short for her but he still thought she would probably win. She ran an uninspiring 4th that day. Then she came back a month later in a 1 1/4 mile race and she ran lousy again.

After those two poor efforts, I was starting to question Kenny's opinion. He turned out to be right. She won the Beverly D.

Kenny made another nice call at the Barrett's Sale. He loved an Afleet Alex colt that nobody else liked. He thought the horse was the best horse in the sale. He told me at the time that the horse was "a man amongst boys" at that sale. The horse only ended up selling for $75,000. He won easily first-time out and then came back and ran 2nd in The Best Pal. His name is Sway Away.

My wallet cried. I spread to almost every horse in the Bev D in my pick 3 except this one.

LOL. Me too. The horses I didn't use finished 1,2,4...Talk about a debacle.
