![]() Nice to be at Belmont this morning to watch Lloydobler and Ausable Chasm go through their work. Chasm was out on the training track for a 2 mile gallop, and continues to do beautifully. She'll work another half mile on Thursday after last week's :49.0 breeze in company, and is on schedule for a debut before the end of the Belmont meet.
Lloydobler has been moving much better after treatment to his left stifle last week, and galloped his 2 miles on the Belmont main track. With the warmer weather, it has become apparent that part of what has been bothering Lloyd may involve his being a colt, and consideration is being given to having him gelded. Dr. Hunt thinks it's the right move, and a decision will be made as soon as tomorrow. He looks terrific physically, and has really filled out even since the begining of the year. His next start may well be in a turf sprint, and should come later this month. Both Lloydobler and Ausable Chasm will look to make a start or two at Saratoga, which based on the experience at the Spa with Sumwonlovesyou in 2007, should be special. More from Belmont as the week unfolds.
