Default What's your ROI?

I just checked my ROI on Youbet.com and was curious how i compared with others. I bet about $ 3,000 per month on average and am down 9.5% for the year. Anyone have any idea how the average horseplayer does or know of any online references that would track that? Ultimately i guess it comes down to what are you comfortable spending on something you really enjoy and i am definately within that range but i am still curious how others are doing. I've been doing this since i was a kid and i am not sure i am getting any better LOL

The average player's ROI is easy to figure...it's the take at whatever track. at -9.5%, you're halfway there and have beat the crowd by 50% for whatever that's worth.

The average player's ROI is actually slightly worse than the track take due to breakage. (rounding down of payouts)

hmmmm, that's not too good considering that takes into account everyone who bets horses because they like the pretty colors the jockey is wearing! Back to the drawing board until i get that - turned into a +, i still have a few weeks.
