His Take on the Travers Tomorrow and I Quote

I consider Indian Charlie's posts to be "must-read" material. I didn't know he had a newsletter!

Who is this guy?

Actually, if I were to post my pre race opinion on the Travers, I'd have said the same exact thing. I hate his chances tomorrow!

Why thank you!

We are two different people entirely however.

The Indian Charlie the first post referred to is a racing writer/commentator in Kentucky.

Indian Charlie the horse was named after Indian Charlie the writer. Baffert was a big fan of his and promised he'd name a good horse after him.

My user name here is because I was a lunatic fan of Indian Charlie the horse. At the time of his debut, I thought he might be one of the most talented horses I'd ever seen and managed to get a future bet on him in August of his two year old year, at 150/1.

Which is probably how he got hurt in the derby.

We both do seem to be somewhat sarcastic and share a belief that many people in racing are retarded.

I always thought the horse came before the writer.

Current writer is not the original Indian Charlie but took over the mantle and name to continue the tradition of 'afflicting the comfortable' and writing what others are too politic to say out loud. This horse is not even the original Indian Charlie; there was a 1962 colt by Indian Hemp named Indian Charlie but he never raced.

I chatted with Eddie at the track one day and a part of the conversation made it into the sheet, so I venture he's writing it...

I really enjoy how he picks who is not going to win a race. Brilliant.
