Well, another enjoyable, if not profitable day at Arlington Park. A good collection of Dee Tee stables on hand. I got to the park early and met OneBadBeast (aka Joe the Dude) at the start of the first race. We sat down, handicapped the races and made plenty of "donations" to the track. It was maddening to just miss out several times. While we were sitting on a bench near the paddock I got to talking to an elderly, but spry, woman who quickly told me that she was 93 and still enjoyed going to the races. She was turned on to the racing game by her uncle who trained horses at Woodbine, and won the Queen's Plate twice! I didn't ask for her uncle's name - just hoped that at 93 I still have it going on so I can get to the track and check out the horses.

I took a couple of pictures of Kickin N Screamin and Colonel Klink. The link above will take you to the pictures. In the paddock, Jessica was talking about the horses and mentioned KNS and mentioned something about the "crazy betting" going on - turns out she hasn't linked up the DT stable horses with the crazy odds. During Colonel Klinks run I got a chuckle when the track announcer said something like, "and Colonel Klink is marching down on the outside" I presume he worked on that prior to the race.

I hope everyone had a safe trip home. As always, thanks to Chuck and his crew. Special thanks to Bob for letting us hangers on join him in the paddock for Klink's tacking up.

We'll get 'em next time

Smile Great Pics

I just wanted to say thanks for the pics of my beauty queen, she looks great, I miss her so much but I know Tc is taking good care of her, hopefully I'll be able to make a trip to AP soon so I can see her.

P.S. I would also like to say thanks for the pics of my boy Colonel.

Maggs, you are quite welcome. KNS is such a quirky lady - I think she has gotten used to the crowd of people in the paddock with all eyes on her. It seems whenever I have been in the paddock, once she starts walking around she will look right at us to make sure her cheering section is there. She is in good hands with TC. Colonel Klink is one handsome horse. You should try to get up to AP to visit both of them, I am sure they would love to see you. Thanks for caring so much about them.

kinda freaky the way she's giving you the eyeball in one of those pics, like totally recognizes even though the last time she saw you would have been Atlantic City lol - thanks for much for sharing, can only imagine how tall the Colonel looks in person (yes, JohnG did use the word "marching" during the call coming down the lane lol)...
