What do they pay when they are hit? I mean, 9 races is the pinnacle, but the fact that the horse "only" has to place or win -- does that cut the payoff down a lot?

Favorite for fun is boxing 4 horses in a 10c super.

Favorite for a serious wager is exactas played various ways.

over the weekend at Arlington, 7 out of 9 both days got you: $85 and $31.

I used to just play in-race exotics, but now I'm hooked on rolling pick 3's through the card. I do that instead of trifectas, and I don't even attempt supers.

Pick-3 and Pick-4 definitely. Occasional Exacta wagers as well.

I'm fairly terrible at everything else.

I like playing the .50 pick fours. Why not .50 pick fours at NYRA tracks. Most major circuits( churchill downs, keeneland, fairgrounds, gulfstream, etc) offer this wager

I really like Part Wheel Trifectas. I got into them after reading Steven Crist's book "Exotic Betting". It also told me I can't afford to play the Pick Six. I play vertical, rather than horizontal and target mid level "Claiming and Allowance races" where there are a number of "B" horses offering value.

Pick threes and pick fours.

Have done pretty well with grand slam bets. Anyone else play them?

What is a grand slam bet anyway? Heard of it but never knew what it was.

Philly Park's system doesn't seem to allow Super High 5, Grand Slam, or any Pick-6's that are less than $2 (like at Beulah).

i've enjoyed playing supers, altho with limited success. but i find it a challenge that i like to take on. my best success has been with exactas. haven't really tried multi race bets much but have hit a couple.

The Grand Slam is like a pick four, but you need only be in the money the first three legs. Have to have the winner in the last. So yeah, it pays less but you can hit it multiple times or beef up and play it for more cash.

I've only seen it in NY.
