![]() With the derby in the horizon, horseplayers have two choices : save the bankroll for Derby Day or keep firing away to increase it. I decided for the latter. I had plenty of time on the flight back yesterday to Chicago to study this sequence. Now let's see how it works.
Gulfstream Park POST SCRATCHES R6 - Clm 10k (Turf) #7 Irish Cove - All three career wins have come at the distance (T) and her latest effort is excusable because of the trouble she encountered. #11 Emma's Candy - Trainer (Andrade) becoming a specialist with these quick turnarounds (3 for 7 43%) $3.43 R.O.I.), although this runner hasn't seen the winner's circle since '07. #3 Luckey Greeley - Has enough back class to take this event despite the long layoff and slow works. #4 Pago Island - Likes to finish third and another minor share is well within her scope. R7 - MSW 42k #8 Honest Wildcat - The son of Yes It's True has been burning up the deep Payson Park strip in the mornings in preparation for his debut. #3 Barge - Flashed speed in debut before yielding late to finish 2nd. #5 Telemachus - Was placed on the shelf since his first race at Saratoga where he took some dead money. #10 Galligan Road - Most experienced runner looks to finally break through. R8 - OC62k / N2X (Turf) #3 Blues Street - Just missed versus similar and looks to get plenty of speed up front to set it up on a platter for his familiar late rally. Singleton. #4 T Harry - Yes he's stepping up, but he's in too good of form to ignore. #9 Murch - Quality runner is dangerous in this spot right back. #1 Gold Pageantry - Ships in from TBD after back to back wins to start the year. Brings Rosemary Jr. as well. R9 - MSW 42k (Turf) #6 Scholastic - Clement will have her ready off the bench after she was beaten by a neck in debut. #5 There are Rainbows - She must break better, but the talent is there. #8 Chapel Affair - SCR #4 Gold Indy - Pletcher/Decarlo combo should attract plenty of attention at the windows after her 2nd place finish when last seen. PK4 - 3 7 11 / 3 4 5 7 8 10 / 3 / 4 5 6 10 12 = $45 for a $.50 play Good Racing Luck

Optimum results in first two legs of sequence. Paid well considering the two favorites closed it out.
