DT Contest: The 2009 Finale
Wow, we’ve reached the end of the Third Annual Derby Trail Contest. As your host, it has been a pleasure - thank you for letting me run this fun and informative contest - and thanks to all of those that pointed out my mistakes without pointing out my math sucks
 Just a reminder, if the horse you picked earlier in this contest win the Derby, you will get a "10 times the earlier race payoff" bonus... for example, if Friesan Fire wins the Derby, jms62 will get a $156.00 bonus (10 x $15.60, Friesan Fire's pay-off from the Risen Star) and he will most likely beat Scav and win this game  Also, we are playing for prizes, they are: 1st Place: A Trophy AND BRAGGING RIGHTS! 2nd Place: Horse Racing prize package 3rd Place: Tom Chapman "The End of an Era" Bay Meadows Poster Last year the Derby bonus ended up making the difference as TheSpyder pulled out the win. Second place went to Dunbar (only $2.20 behind Spyder ) and third place went to Hoist Her Flag – congrats to all of them!  Finally, I also will be posting a Triple Crown contest. That one is very easy, pick the winner and a three horse exacta box for each of the three TC races... you can either post your picks here or there - I'll keep track of them where ever you post them! Thanks to Derby Cat for the hard work in managing this. I don't post as much as I would like to and this was a great opportunity to stay in touch with the races leading up to the Derby.
Anyway, my pick to win has been Pioneerof the Nile (since January) and my alternate pick is General Quarters.
