Default Utley extends hit streak...

To 34 games on the biggest garbage time dribbling ground ball to the pitcher that he waited 10 minutes to throw to first and Utley beat it out. They gifted him with a hit to extend the streak.

Any streak is gonna have a few of those, the other night the second basemen could have been given an error also (although I agreed with the awarding of a hit), didn't see the one you mention yet. I think it's remarkable and Utley is becoming a special player. I remember when Pete was starting to get somewhat close...the hype was terrible. I doubt Utley will withstand the pressure but I would love to see him get close! Great for the game!

Yes. Lets hope he breaks the record. It would be a great story. Anyone rooting against this guy is just bitter and jealous.

Oh, well hell. I didn't watch the end. I had no idea he batted again and got a hit. It was in the 8th when he hit the dribbler, so I figured he wouldn't get up again. That's cool he got another hit. he definately can hit the ball and most of the time they are legit. The hit I was talking about was technically a hit, but for the pitcher to wheel around and look at third like that wasn't nessessary. He should have just fielded the ball and gone to first anyway. He didn't have to look the runner back. If he goes to 1st like he was supposed to, he would have gotten him out. Utley was hustling down the line, so I have to give him props. The Phillies look like they make some noise in the wild card race. They have some bats on that team.
