Oh wow, sad news I hadn't heard that. Do you know what the cause of death was? Being a huge Cubs fan I was quite the fan of Harry Caray, still miss his calls to be honest. Condolences out to the Caray family, his son Chip another ex Cubs broadcaster. RIP Skip, say hi too Harry for all us Cubs fans.

They said he died in his sleep today at his home. He went to take a nap this afternoon and didn't wake up.

Thanks for the link. It looks like he's been in poor health for a little while now, he was looking really thin in the photo too. 68 still too young to go.

Poor Harry could not see the ball his last few years.
A batter would get brushed back high and tight
"loo and outside...

This usually means that he passed from a malignant dysrhythmia or ventricular fibrillation where thankfully there is very little pain or suffering as the heart functionally stops sending blood forward to the rest of the body. Patients usually pass out as the brain quickly shuts down without oxygenated blood.

Referred to in Critical Care as sudden death or a code. Of all the ways to go to God this is how you want your loved ones to pass.....without agony, suffering or breathlessness.

I loved listening to Skip on TBS as the Braves were always on when I was a kid. An easy voice to listen to who never seemed to say the things that ruined the flow of a game. A class talent. He'll be missed.

Countless summer nights spent with my Papa watching a Braves game listening to his call. What a great talent.
