Default Here comes a track record at Belmont.

There will be some history today. Whoever is the track super is going to send Big Brown into retirement with this ridiculous track. Benny the Bull or somebody is going to do it here.

Caught my horse at the wire too. How the hell did he catch him?

I am betting the Track Record comes in the Woody Stephens.

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll hear that Indian Blessing is taking down a record in two more races.

They must have put a little water in it or the heat is getting to the horses. I guess Desert Key is a pretty fast horse. Just didn't think he would run a faster time than Benny the Bull.

Every track in the country seems to think they have to have their track as fast as possible for the 'big race' day. And Big Sandy is notorious for turning into a paved road when it gets water on it (as it did earlier in the week). Deep closers need not apply today. Unless they go the first quarter in under 22.

Might as well throw out Ready's Echo on all tickets right now

I started to say that, then I thought Murphy's Law would have him win the race so my mouth's staying shut on that matter. I won't be the one to go 'he'd have to fall down to lose' or 'no way will that horse win' etc.

Had a $10 P3 to the 8 (and the 7, but it was $177 per 2 to Benny and $1,180 per 2 to MoD).

Ouch, i feel your pain.

I love Benny but i thought he wouldn't be at peak form and thought it was worth taking a shot against him at those low odds. I had the 8 on top in tri's and was hoping to get Benny off the board. For a moment it looked like he stalled a little in fourth. Then I thought, well third is okay, then second, then oh CRAP.

I used only the 7 & 8, same thinking- wasn't sure Benny was at 100% but I figured he was still tough at 90% against those, he was probably 89%

The double pain was I started another $5 P3 with just the 7&8 singling Zaftig on the end, and while I hit it, it would have been MONSTER had MoD had won.

I like Benny a lot, and it was a great race, which eases the financial pain a bit.

Benny the Bull clearly didn't run his fastest race, and Desert Key has already established that he's got some talent. In the future, you might wanna wait until after more than one race to make declarations about the track.
